On Sunday December 13, 2015, at 9pm Grameenphone and the other mobile operators in Bangladesh received written instruction from the Government through the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to temporarily restrict access to messaging and social media services Skype, Imo, Twitter along side Viber, WhatsApp, Line, Tango, Hangout, Comoyo and ustream.tv. BTRC’s correspondence asked for the services restriction to start immediately. Grameenphone regret any inconvenience caused to our valued customers in this regard.
