We are committed to collaborate with responsible and impactful social partners to reduce inequality and empower the society within our field of expertise. Bangladesh CSR Award 2018
Grameenphone was awarded for “Innovations in Corporate Social Responsibility Practices” at the Bangladesh CSR Leadership Awards 2018. We were recognized for our innovative approach in designing and deploying sustainability initiatives for the community. The Awards recognize corporate entities and individuals that have made a significant and positive impact on the people around them, through their involvement in corporate social responsibility programs focusing on communities, the environment and people. All sustainability projects such as the Child Online Safety and Supply Chain Sustainability initiatives are based on a successful marriage between technology and innovation.
We make sure our child is wearing a helmet when he goes out for cycling, but we never ensure safety precautions before a child goes to online surfing. It is equally important to protect a child in an online space as much as it important to keep them safe offline. To equip our children from potential harm on the internet, we initiated ‘Child Online Safety’ with Telenor Group and UNICEF.
