The Bangladesh Cricket Control Board (BCCB) and Grameenphone are jointly launching the‘Grameenphone Pacer Hunt' for the second time. The BCCB is looking for fast bowlers from any corner of the country who can be the next Mashrafee Bin Mortaza or Shahadat Hossain.
The Grameenphone Pacer Hunt will begin on February 7, 2007. The screening will take place at different venues to accommodate aspirants from all regions of the country.
"One thing I must say is that the Grameenphone Pacer Hunt is exceptional," said Erik Aas, Managing Director, Grameenphone, "because it is a national platform that gives every young aspirant bowler across Bangladesh an equal opportunity to prove his mettle and become the next pace-bowling sensation."
Grameenphone Pacer Hunt was first arranged in 2004 and was a big success. Several thousand young people from all walks of society took part in that program. The selected bowlers were sent to attend the MRF Pace Bowling Camp in Chennai, India and also invited to be part of the BCCB High Performance Program. Some of the selected bowlers even took part in the U-19 World Cup.
The Grameenphone Pacer Hunt will be led by former National Coach Sarwar Imran.
