Grameenphone to sponsor Zainul-Quamrul International Children's Painting Competition 2007
The Grameenphone Zainul-Quamrul International Children's Painting Competition 2007, organized by Gandaria Kachi-Kachar Mela was launched today (June 12).
Md. Shafiur Rahman Dulu, Director, Gandaria Kachi-Kachar Mela formally launched the competition at a press conference at the GP Head Office. Stein Naevdal, Chief Marketing Officer of Grameenphone was present as a special guest at the launching ceremony. This is the third time Grameenphone is sponsoring this prestigious international children's painting competition.
The competition is open to children aged between 3 to 16 years. Entries will be accepted till September 30, 2007. The prize-giving ceremony followed by a three-day exhibition of the paintings will be held at the Bangladesh National Museum in the first week of December 2007. The paintings will also be on display at Kachi-Kachar Mela's own gallery in Gandaria from March 26 to March 31, 2008.
This is the sixth time that this international painting competition is being organized. It should be mentioned that this international children's art contest takes place every two years. In 2005, more than 4000 children from 30 different countries took part in the competition.
This year the top 84 winners will receive special awards from Grameenphone, of which 4 winners will be awarded with gold medals.
