GP Accelerator Leaps Forward Regional Expansion, Redefining Startup Growth

Background:

Innovation is thriving across the country, driven by young minds eager to tackle regional challenges. To support these aspiring entrepreneurs, last year Grameenphone’s GP Accelerator is launching the 'জেলায় জেলায় স্মার্ট উদ্যোক্তা' bootcamp series, comprising 20 nationwide sessions aimed at equipping youth with essential skills and resources.

Activity:

· Community Leadership Expansion: Onboarded 30 community leaders nationwide, establishing over 30 startup hubs across the country to foster local entrepreneurship.

· Outreach Initiatives: Conducted 27 outreach sessions nationwide to raise awareness about the program, significantly increasing its visibility and engagement.

· Curriculum Development: Organized a comprehensive day-long workshop for curriculum crafting, involving 20 organizations, including NSDA, Seedstars Global, ICT IDEA, Startup Bangladesh Ltd, and many leading Startup founders to enhance educational offerings. This workshop also ensures content strategy based on stakeholder input, ensuring that the program aligned with market needs and trends, and actively contributed to a future-focused vision for the marketplace.

· Entrepreneur Support: Assisted over 5200 entrepreneurs through the ‘Jelay Jelay Smart Uddokta’ campaign, providing essential resources and guidance to help them transform from ideas into prototype, pitch crafting, elevator pitch & real pitch

competition. Bootcamps saw over 250 participants each, including innovators, students, professionals, startups, and business owners, come together for a high-energy, day-long event. The focus was on reimagining innovation, building startups to not only drive economic growth but also foster meaningful community connections in regional space.

· Stakeholder Engagement: Engaged over 120 local stakeholders, including MPs, Local Govt stakeholders like- BTRC Commissioners, City Mayors, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, DIGs, SPs, University Professors, and many other influential figures from the regions, to build a strong support network for the entrepreneurship development across Bangladesh.

Impact:

This initiative has paved the way for transformative partnerships and strategic collaborations, particularly with Startup Bangladesh Ltd. and regional leaders. By actively engaging Circle teams and key local stakeholders, we are shaping a more dynamic and inclusive business ecosystem. This forward-thinking approach strengthens our position with government stakeholders, ensuring greater influence and seamless regulatory access. Ultimately, it positions us as a catalyst for innovation and sustainable economic growth.
