Grameenphone and BTCL settled inter-operator revenue sharing for international calls

Grameenphone Ltd. and Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) settled their inter-operator revenue sharing for international calls (incoming and outgoing) as per International Long Distance Telecommunication Services (ILDTS) Policy- 2007 for the period of October 2008 to December 2010. A formal cheque handover ceremony held at Telejogajog Bhaban, Easkaton on 27th June, 2011. This sort of bilateral revenue settlement for international voice between GP and BTCL is the first among all mobile operators.

Mr. Taimur Rahman, Director of Grameenphone's Corporate Affairs exchanged the cheque on behalf of the company with Dr. Abu Sayed Khan, Managing Director of BTCL. On the eve, Mr. Taimur appreciated the level of mutual understanding and cooperation that existed between both the parties in different bilateral issues. He commented, “Grameenphone strives to deliver the best customer experience and works toward continuous development of the nation. And such support from the government institutes will help us ensure excellent services and an easier route to a digital Bangladesh. We are thankful to BTCL for all their support in our endeavors.”

On the occasion, Dr. Abu Sayed shared his pleasure to amicably settle the revenue and thanked GP for the cooperation.

Mr. SOM Kalimullah, Member, Maintenance & Operation and Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, Director, International from BTCL and Mr. Mainur Rahman Bhuiyan, Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury; and Mr. Imtiaz Shafiq, DGM & Head of Interconnection Affairs from Grameenphone were present during the exchange ceremony along with other officials.
