Grameenphone Launches New, Refreshed Logo

Dhaka, November 16, 2006: Grameenphone Ltd. announced the launch of a new, refreshed logo today. The largest mobile phone company in Bangladesh - that now serves more than 10 million customers - will introduce a new, modern logo from 17th November.

The new logo and fresh, dynamic visuals express the values Grameenphone is known for: trust, reliability, quality and constant progress. It also signals the company's continued focus on securing the best possible communications services for its customers. With this change, the company continues to build on its success and traditions, maintaining its strong brand-name "Grameenphone" as part of its refreshed brand identity.
"It is 10 years since Grameenphone received its license to operate. Since then, our industry and our customers' needs have changed, and so have we. We are evolving our business to meet the changing needs of all our customers across Bangladesh and we need a visual identity that reflects our ambitions for the future," said Erik Aas, CEO of Grameenphone.
"More importantly, we are maintaining the name Grameenphone as part of the new identity. The name Grameenphone carries with it all of the heritage, success and values of our past. We are now taking that into a more modern design that reflects our future view as well. This change is not just about changing the way we look. We want to continually evolve our organization and our dynamics to serve our customers even better in the future. I strongly believe that our new brand identity will inspire us in these ongoing efforts to deliver even better services to all our customers," he continued.
Grameenphone has been instrumental in making mobile communications accessible across Bangladesh over the last decade, providing quality network and after-sales service, innovative products and services and empowering people. The introduction of mobile telephony has revolutionised the way people communicate and has been a driver of socio-economic development for individuals and the country.
"Today, Grameenphone is a family of more than 10 million people. Our rich heritage means that we are uniquely placed to understand and meet our customer needs, and can be faster and more relevant in our responses. Now we are building on this foundation, to be even better in how we meet the needs of our customers in the future," noted Erik Aas.
The logo refreshment will apply on all elements of Grameenphone's appearance and will bring renewal in other areas as well.

Our refreshed brand, new visual profile and all related improvements will bring positive surprises for our customers in the months to come," stressed the Grameenphone CEO. 

The new logo will be gradually visible on all Grameenphone sales and service centers, franchises, retail outlets, billboards, electronic media and on company website starting from this Friday.
